Today my daughter participated in a local city's parade with her homeschool band. It was a lot of fun, but it was hot! Still, we had water and an umbrella to keep the sun off of us, so we had a good time. I took lots of pictures, so be warned, this post is image heavy. ...click photo to embiggen
What's an Independence Day Parade without the Father of Our Country?
Its Uncle Sam and Snoopy!
Thought this classic truck was sharp
Oh I wish I was an Oscar Meyer...you know the drill
an old-fashioned fire engine
Princesses! Squeee!
This is scary on so many levels
Here is my daughter's band, she plays the clarinet
T, who is a Yankee Doodle Dandy, baby

There is nothing better than watching a parade on the 4th.
There are some "totally awesome" 80's tribute bands here in Las Vegas. However, they do look ridiculous.
I love a parade!
Cool parade, especially the wienermobile. My son would have loved that, as would have the rest of us, frankly.
Nice Simpsons reference, by the way. Or, should I say, cromulent Simpsons reference.
mel: it was fun, just really hot!
cajunvegan: I guess because it's my music, I am really picky about it. Not sure how I feel about making it all campy. I know, I am getting old.
literaldan: I forgot that was a Simpson's reference! I have been using it for so many years, I forgot where it came from. Funny how that happens. I am the Queen of Pop Culture references. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
Thanks everyone for commenting!
