When I Run Away, I'm Taking My iPod With Me

13 Songs in Heavy Rotation on my iPod

1. Fallen by Sarah McLachlan
love her gutsy, vulnerable voice 2. Hold On by Good Charlotte
It's the song I wish I had as a teenager

3. Drops of Jupiter by Train
an oldie but a goodie < 4. I'm Not Okay (I Promise) by My Chemical Romance
have to get my Emo on somehow 5. Swing by Trace Adkins
I just love his deep, sultry southern voice 6.It Stoned Me Van Morrison
It's Van, what's not to love? Bluesy, mellow

7. You Can't Take the Honky Tonk Outta the Girl Brooks & Dunn
you can take the girl out of the country, but can't, well, you know

8. Bent by Matchbox Twenty
Please help me, I'm bent..

9. Not Ready To Make Nice by Dixie Chicks
completely describes how I feel about this Administration

10. Love Song by Sara Bareilles
I am a sucker for smoky voice with attitude

11. Stomp by Kirk Franklin & God's Property
tried and true gospel hip hop...We havin' church we ain't goin' no where

12. A Lord of the Rings Suite by James Galway
we love instrumental here... also love George Winston and classical, too (use your imagination, techy glitches with You Tube and Flash)

13. You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC
my guilty secret, but in the interest of authenticity, here it is
(this is where YouTube video would go, but at midnight it suddenly stopped using Flash Player 7 and I cannot upgrade to Flash 9... issues. So, sorry, but you probably know the song anyway, right?)

I rarely leave home without my MP3 player... an iFraud... or fauxPod... but it works the same! Good mix of tunes!

I think I know pretty much nothing about music, and didn't know most of those songs and few of the singers/bands. My kids think I'm nuts for not liking music.

I like thursday thirteen. And my ipod. Good charlotte is totally something I wish I had as a teen. Nice choices.

Speaking of chocolate, I sent my niece (on crutches) a 70 piece box of Godiva.

Thanks for visiting The Pink Flamingo!

Nice list and such variety, too. Awesome. I knew some, didn't know others, but I love that you included the videos.

I have never heard of any of those songs. I guess we have different tastes. I am a huge Brad Paisley fan.

Meh on the country and gospel hip hop. Everything else I've heard before and liked! Great list!

Here's a link for you on AC/DC. They're awesome live.

I've heard *of* nearly every artist on this list.

I've actually *heard* only a handful.

I'm not sure what that may mean. :-/

Interesting list, though. I'd have to tweak my iPod to get a similar list - and that may be what I'll do one Thursday when I'm back in the US this summer.

Happy (Belated) TT!

doubledeckerbusguy: music is music, though I have to admit, I do love my iPod. I love that I can plug it in in the car, great invention!

qtpies: I can imagine with 7 kids you don't have a lot of time to listen to music. Mine keeps me sane after the kids go to bed, though.

katie: Good Charlotte just has a good message in that song, I am so appreciative of it.

sj redhead: amazing, a 70 piece box? After she gets off those crutches she will have to run to get rid of that excess. It will be worth it though.

maggies mind: thanks I am glad you liked it..I love the option to add YouTube.

chelle y.: I like Brad, too. You haven't heard of Brooks & Dunn or Trace Adkins? You would probably like them.

winter: thanks for the AC/DC video source. I know that YouTube has it, but it isn't running through my browser and it is a pain to switch browsers in order to access it.

ms menozzi: I would like to see what songs you would put on your T13. You will have to let me know once you get it up.

angelle: I am glad you like it..it is on my very favorite list.

Thanks, everyone, for visiting!

Sorry that I'm over a week late commenting. I remember when Train performed "Drops of Jupiter" on the Grammys during the early part of the decade. Because I wasn't listening to much current music at the time, I believe that was the first time I had heard it. The song has remained a favorite of mine ever since.

As for AC/DC, you can't go wrong with The Thunder from Down Under.
