In All Seriousness..what my life is about

Tomorrow is Easter...Resurrection Sunday. And while I don't want to preach, (I feel that is best left to those who are called and get paid to do it), I do want to take a few minutes and just say, THIS is the cornerstone of my faith. This is what the entire Christian religion hinges upon. If Jesus had stayed in the tomb, that would have been it, end of story. Close the book. It is the claim that Jesus rose again on the 3rd day, after he was crucified that sets Christianity apart. But they came to the tomb, and it was empty. He had risen.

And for me, that makes all the difference. I don't want to sound trite, but I don't have a religion. I have a relationship with my Lord and Savior. And I believe what he said, and try to live and love the way He told us to...until he comes back. Jesus was a rebel. He scoffed at the status quo. He ate with tax collectors and sinners. He hung out with the people no one else wanted. I don't think a lot of people do live in that manner, really. There is an attitude of protecting oneself and one's family from the World. I don't agree. I give you an excerpt from a website I find very interesting, Hollywood Jesus.

THE GREATEST VALUE IS NOT DETACHMENT
The greatest value is NOT putting the family in isolation from the world. Jesus taught that the two greatest commandments were to love God and to love our neighbor. So, a loving connection with our neighbors is the most important value in life. Jesus made this clear with the stories of the Good Samaritan, the Rich Man and Lazarus, and in his command to go into the entire world. Isolation is against what Jesus taught.

And I think this is why I am a Christian. I don't have to dislike anyone else to love Jesus, and that works for me. Regardless what anyone else may say it takes to be a Christian..so many do's and don'ts.., the main thing it takes is accepting Jesus as Savior and loving God. Really loving him. I just wanted to share one of my favorite worship songs. The church we attended for 8 years, where all three of my children were dedicated, had an amazing worship leader, and he sang this song. Lane had a voice like no other, it would cut straight through you, and lodge in your heart. We moved away, and now attend another church. For the longest time, I would hum this song, but couldn't remember the lyrics. Try looking up just a tune on the Internet, no lyrics. Just isn't possible. But a couple of days ago, a snippet popped into my head, and I was able to look it up and find the song that had imprinted upon my heart years ago.

Forever My Love

The nails in Your hands, the nails in Your feet
They tell me how much You love me
The thorns on Your brow they tell me how
You bore so much shame to love me

And when the heavens pass away
All Your scars will still remain
And forever they will say
Just how much You love me
So I want to say

Forever my love
Forever my heart
Forever my life
Is Yours

The nails in Your hands, the nails in Your feet
They tell me how much You love me
The thorns on Your brow they tell me how
You bore so much shame to love me

Forever my love
Forever my heart
Forever my life
Is Yours...
It's Yours.

Thanks for the song, Forever My Love. I never heard it before.
God is Great and on this day I Thank God for what he has done and continue to do for us.
It's easy to love, even when others try to bring out the wrost in you.
Thanks for sharing your feelings this easter sunday, and may God bless you and your family.
